Polishing the ports on a Indian ? Empty Polishing the ports on a Indian ?

Post  BUCKAROO Fri 27 Mar 2009, 6:57 am

I am replacing the valve guides on my Indian and I am wondering if it is worth it to polish the ports while I have them out ?

Thanks

IMHO, I do not think the work is worth the potential gains to be made. I don't think there is enough volume to see any gains by polishing the ports. If you have the time and want to experiment, I don't think you will hurt anything. You will want to keep the intake ports somewhat rough to help atomize the incoming air/fuel mixture. Let's us know if you do it and your results.
